This is our last day at Colorado Springs. We make the short drive to Manitou Springs to ride the Cog Railway to the top of Pikes Peak. Along the way we see spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and the flat prairie far below. At the top we spend about 30 minutes enjoying the views, visiting the gift shop, and catching our breath (literally!) before the train departs. Later we return to the campground just to hang out and relax. The kids enjoy one last dip in the swimming pool, and I cook dinner. It's good to have a quiet evening.
As the sun sets, Andra and I get the car loaded onto the tow dolly and ready for our departure tomorrow morning. We'll be heading south into New Mexico on our way to the Grand Canyon.
